What is a Professional Organizer and why hire one?

A Professional Organizer is someone who can quickly assess your situation and help you find a solution. A professional is objective, able to break your project down into workable parts, and skilled at helping you achieve the results you want. We have listening skills to work with you and transfer those skills to you so you can use them in the future. We also have organizing resources and places to donate or recycle your clutter. Finally, we also know that organizing is much more than just clutter, it's about living your life to the fullest.

Shouldn't I be able to do this by myself?

Not necessarily. Uncluttering and organizing some projects takes certain skills, training and drive. With many large projects setting time aside with a professional by stepping back and assessing the situation is the only way to get it done. It is not a moral failing that you can't do it yourself, but sometimes you need the objective experience of a professional to know where to start and the steps needed to get it done right and in less time. We are non-judgmental, efficient, and ready to work with you to finally get it done!

Does The Clutter Crew do the project alone or do I help?

The Clutter Crew works one-on-one with clients in their home. Together we will decide if there is anything to be completed before the project day and if there is "homework" the client can do between projects to save money. During the project, the client must be present and focused. The client must also make arrangements for handling incoming phone calls, redirecting visitors, relocating children and pets, etc. so that the project is not interrupted. Time is money, after all, we're working for you!

Will the Professional Organizer listen to me? Of course. We are trained to listen to you. We are working for you, and your goals are our goals. We are not hired to make you the most organized person in the world, we are hired to achieve the results you want and the project we both agree on. We want your new system to make sense for you and your family.

Will the organizer make me get rid of things I don't want to get rid of? Of course not. We will give you encouragement for whatever your goals are. We can help you learn what is clutter and what is not clutter and try to honor the things that you find precious. Whether you want to organize what you have or try to eliminate items, we are there to help you.

Can I trust the Professional Organizer to use discretion when working on my project?

Absolutely. The Clutter Crew abides by the Code of Ethics from the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). These guidelines stress the importance of trust, discretion, integrity and confidentiality and to always have the client's best interest at heart.

What if the project doesn't work as well as I'd hoped? The Clutter Crew guarantees its services 100%. Before work begins, the Professional Organizer and the client will agree on the goals and time required to complete the project and write this on the Project Work Order. If within one week after the project is completed, you didn't receive exactly what was outlined on the project work order, we will be happy to work with you at no additional charge to achieve your original goals.

How much does it cost to hire The Clutter Crew?

The cost to hire a professional organizer depends upon the type of project and the time it will take to complete it. You determine how often we meet, the time line, and whether you want time in between project days to do homework on your own to save money. The initial assessment will take about one hour and costs $25. One-on-one work with the organizer will cost $60/hour. Our cost is competitive with the average rates charged by professional organizers in the area and our services are guaranteed 100%. When we are done, you will agree it was the best money you've spent in a long time.

Will The Clutter Crew help me donate or recycle items? Yes. Recycling your unneeded items is our first priority. We can give you tips on what to donate, who takes donation items, and tax credit basics. We also help you recycle items and deliver items for you. Call now for our free flyer on "Tips for Donating Items to Non-profit Agencies."

What if I just want a plan to get started?

That's okay too! We are experts at helping you break down a big project into workable parts with your timeline attached. This process will involve an assessment for $25 and the cost of writing up a project plan for you.

What if The Clutter Crew can't help me?

If The Clutter Crew can't help you with your project, we will recommend another professional and/or other alternatives to achieve your goals.
